Fleet EV Solutions

The global vehicle market is shifting away from internal combustion engines and it’s no longer a question of if, but when. For businesses and fleet operators who need fit for purpose solutions, converting existing diesel or petrol vehicles to electric is quickly becoming the smart, sustainable move.

Electric commercial vehicle conversions offer more than just environmental benefits. They deliver improved performance, lower operating costs, silent operations, and a dramatically reduced carbon footprint—all without the need to invest in brand-new vehicles. They can also be used as your mobile energy storage unit with our V2L and V2G solutions.

Now is the time to rethink your fleet strategy and get ahead of the transition.

Why Convert Your Commercial Vehicles?

The benefits go far beyond environmental benefits. Switching to electric isn’t just about reducing emissions, it’s a smart business move. From boosting performance and cutting fuel costs to simplifying maintenance and future-proofing your fleet, commercial EV conversions offer tangible advantages that directly impact your bottom line. Whether you’re managing a single workhorse or an entire fleet, converting the vehicle you need to electric can drive measurable gains across your operation.

OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS

Electric drive solutions offer instant torque, and often much more than the diesel or petrol motor that they are replacing. They are also smooth and much quieter which has an added benefit for employees

LOWER MAINTENANCE COSTS

Although conversion can be expensive, electric vehicles typically have much lower operating and maintenance costs compared to traditional vehicles. The diesel engine requires a service every 10,000 kms to replace 10 litres of oil and filters. On an electric brushless motor there is little to check in comparison, which means that you will just need to focus on the gearbox, diffs and safety items.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Converting to electric power significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a cleaner environment.

LOWER FUEL COSTS

Powering electric vehicles can cost a fraction of diesel, often as little as 6 cents per kilometre from the grid, and virtually nothing when using solar.

INCENTIVES & SUPPORT

Access rebates, grants, and tax credits offered by many governments for electrifying commercial fleets.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Stay ahead of tightening emissions standards and future-proof your fleet against upcoming regulations.

What Vehicles Can Be Converted?

Electric conversions aren’t limited to cars. Many commercial vehicle types can be upgraded, including:

  • 4x4s
If you have a specialist built 4×4, need instant torque, or want to keep your existing vehicle, then converting to electric might be the best solution for you.
  • Buses
Especially compelling for fleets aiming to reduce mid-life emissions. Many bus operators retain vehicles for over 25 years—an electric conversion at the halfway point is a smart move.
  • Semi-Trailers
Although more complex, electrifying trailers that would normally need a secondary diesel drive unit, or truck PTO, converting to electric is becoming more viable with our bespoke solutions.
  • Mining Equipment
For vehicles and equipment working in extreme conditions, a purpose-built electric drive solution may be the easiest way to achieve zero emissions today.
  • Industrial Equipment & Generators
From secondary drive units to specialised machines, even the most niche commercial assets can go electric with a custom-designed solution from Australian EVS.

Whole of Life Costs

THE TRUE SCALE OF ASSET VALUE

Rather than considering the purchase price of an asset, a vehicle’s true cost needs to be analysed over its useful life within a fleet.

The Whole of Life Cost (WOLC) method compares costs such as: Depreciation (purchase price – resale value), Maintenance and Fuel, as illustrated below.

By using the Transport for NSW Heavy Vehicle Comparison tool, the WOLC for an Electric Land Cruiser has been compared against a traditional diesel vehicle over 5 years and travelling 50,000kms per year.

Although the Electric Vehicle or EV conversion costs more to purchase, the savings in fuel and maintenance costs more than pays for itself. It is worth noting that the cost of replacing the batteries at 10 years would be less then the cost of replacing an engine, and they could be used for
battery storage for their 2nd life.
For organisations that also place a value on carbon emissions, the WOLC costs are even more impactful, even when using the national grid for fuelling. If solar was to be used, the emission reductions would be even greater.
